About us, VIEW KNUST, powered by Project VIEW, is an initiative that seeks to focus on only one class of people: students. The goal is to move them from complaining about the pitfalls in the system to creating the opportunities we never had. To achieve this feat, it is basic we first change how we see our universities. Thus, it bears the name “VIEW KNUST” to forever echo the prime purpose. In brief, the desired change we all seek in our education must begin from somewhere – called VIEW.

There are fundamental cores on which the project will continue to harness its strength. In brief, these are going to act as guidelines for each activity and decision the initiative takes as well as the milestones we want to reach. They include;

Character Building

There are traits the world wants to see in graduates. Fortunately, or unfortunately, the preferences keep changing with time. We, then, have to train ourselves, as students, to match the standards. VIEW hopes to raise personalities who will easily cope with the demanding needs of society.

Opportunities Creation

One essential component the average Ghanaian student feels it’s missing from our system is the availability of opportunities. Although it is a long shot, the step is better than the other option of doing nothing. VIEW aims to, in every possible way, improve existing ones in the student ecosystem and create more to cushion student lives.

Creativity Promotion

A huge, positive energy has not been tapped over the years. In every student environment, there are abundant varieties of talents and skills which, when carefully harnessed, would be a powerful tool for the country. VIEW must help uncover, develop and realize the enormous potentials of tertiary students.

Knowledge Application

There cannot be any improvement if students don’t find ways to practice the things they study. VIEW cannot do away this point because it pillars the main idea of seeing our universities in a different manner. It is the vision of VIEW to engage students through trainings, researches, projects and other avenues which all aid us to utilize our knowledge in the various fields of study.

In conclusion, this particular subproject is to create innovate ways to build students for industry success.

PROJECT VIEW

“It’s always theory, no practicals” Right! “Really, what are the importance of the things we’re studying?” Right! “I feel I learnt nothing in school” Right! “Job listings are asking for skills I’ve never even heard of.” Right! “Why do companies want a minimum of 1 year experience? Don’t they know we are new graduates?” Right!
It all comes down to one simple, complicated problem: “There’s a wide gap between ACADEMIA and INDUSTRY.”

We know a defect of such magnitude will require years of deliberate, conscious, consistent collective efforts. However, while the systemic change has not happened yet, Project VIEW is committed to ensure students, the most affected stakeholder, don’t shoulder the heavy burden alone.
