Motivation Is Always Overrated Best 1

I know how hard it is to have the thing that gives us hope crashed, but first hear me out. For strange reasons, people rely so much on motivation, which is far from an easy way. The obvious truth is that it is for starters and emergencies. At this moment, allow me to explain why motivation is overrated and introduce you to a better option. 

Why Do People Need Motivation?

First, let’s establish when we need motivation. It is always the situations we are not confident about that require this influence. That is why people use them when trying out new things or have no luxury of time to act. Rarely do you see people get motivated before they can eat, speak, sleep or have fun. The reason is they are good at it, know what the results likely are, and can think what could possibly go wrong. I’m sure you now understand why you don’t need motivation all the time; we’re getting somewhere. 

Motivation

Every situation is like a height, with the degree corresponding to the magnitude. Consider the smaller one between the ground and the end of your staircase. On any normal day, you can just that height with no stress. Why are the stairs there, anyway? Now, picture the height of a fence and ask again if you can jump it with no worry. How about you leaping into an airplane without its stairs? 

Just like in the above scenarios, motivation is like jumping heights (from start to a desired finish) within the shortest period. You’ll now appreciate why we need it to start something new and in emergency cases because those moments require a certain confidence level in order to overcome. Note that the two factors, here, are time and confidence level. Do we always have to travel that sharp slope? Imagine what would happen to a car using such a road.

What is Better Than Motivation?

Instead of waiting, we can build our confidence level over time before the call. Just like the stairs, we climb the heights in steps. That looks easier than our motivation hop, right? This is called consistency. Being consistent makes you learn new things all the time, face likely problems, prioritize your growth over the need to just overcome, and become a better person who doesn’t need motivation before you excel, all under a less-stress condition.

Finally, let’s use this last example. When a kid starts to ride a bicycle, he needs training wheels and words of encouragement (motivation) to develop the confidence. To become a better rider, he can’t rely on those factors only. That is where he needs to keep riding without the wheels, fall multiple times, rise and continue until he masters the riding. Once he becomes good at it, I’m not sure he even needs a push before he rides.

Conclusion

Maybe you like being lazy and that’s why you always choose motivation because there is no other choice at that point. Yes, it is good, but doesn’t make you the best you can be. It is a push, unlike consistency, which is a drive. If you need motivation all the time, there certainly is a big, big problem.
